Gardaí appeal for information following incident in Dublin
Detectives were today investigating how a man who fell asleep in a sunny park awoke with serious neck and head injuries.
The 41-year-old went for a stroll in Darndale Park, north Dublin, yesterday afternoon while work was being carried out on his car.
The man, from nearby Ballymun, nodded off in the afternoon sun and was later found badly injured.
He is being treated for serious head and neck injuries at Beaumont Hospital.
Investigating gardaí said the man doesn’t remember what happened to him.
One line of inquiry is that he may have been struck by something while asleep.
Detectives believe children were riding a quad bike in the park around the time of the incident, after 2.30pm.
Inquiries are being carried out in the area by officers from Coolock Garda station.
They have appealed for anyone with information about what may have happened or who may have witnessed something in the park that could have led to the injuries to contact them.
