FF support falls further as Labour gains three points

Fianna Fáil has failed to improve its popularity during campaigning for the local and European elections, according to an opinion poll published this morning.

The TNS/MRBI poll in the Irish Times puts support for the main government party at just 20%, down one point since the last poll two weeks ago.

Fine Gael's support is also down two points, but it remains the most popular party with 36% support.

The Labour Party, meanwhile, has seen its support jump three points to 23%, while Sinn Féin is down one to 8% and the Greens are unchanged at 3%.

Elsewhere, satisfaction with the Government is up two points to 12%, but a massive 84% of respondents are still unhappy with the coalition's performance.

Labour's Eamon Gilmore remains the most popular party leader with a 49% satisfaction rating, with Gerry Adams on 33%, Enda Kenny on 31%, John Gormley on 27% and Brian Cowen on 21%.
