Health Minister Mary Harney has promised that the Government will examine whether documents relating to the Child Abuse Commission's inquiries can be retained.

The documents are due to be destroyed following the completion of the inquiry, but Labour TD Joan Burton said in the Dáil today that this would be an appalling insult to the victims.
