Man dies following house fire in west Cork

A man in his 30s has died following a house fire near Bantry in west Cork in the early hours of this morning.

The blaze broke out in Kilcrohane at around 1.30am.

The victim was pronounced dead en route to Bantry hospital, where a post mortem is expected to be carried out later today.

The scene has been preserved while gardaí seek to determine the cause of the fire.
