New search continues at Rathfarnham golf club

Gardaí are continuing to search a patch of land in the Rathfarnham area of Dublin today as part of their investigation into the disappearance of Philip Cairns 23 years ago.

The 13-year-old disappeared while walking to school in the area in 1986.

An area of Grange Golf Club on the Whitechurch Road was excavated earlier this month by gardaí investigating the case, but nothing was found.

A fresh dig at another part of the course began yesterday following new information given to detectives.
