Man dies following stabbing in Tralee

A 32-year-old man who was stabbed in Tralee last night has died from his injuries.

A 32-year-old man who was stabbed in Tralee last night has died from his injuries.

The Polish national was stabbed during an incident in the Racecourse Lawn estate at approximately 7pm yesterday evening.

A communion was being celebrated in a house in the estate at the time and it is understood the man was stabbed on the street outside.

A 28-year-old Polish man, who was arrested last night, has had his period of detention extended at Tralee Garda Station in connection with the incident.

Gardaí have confirmed they have upgraded their inquiry to murder and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
