Injured woman rescued from Croagh Patrick

A woman has been rescued on Croagh Patrick in Mayo after being injured in a fall.

A team of rescuers from the Mayo Mountain Rescue was called to a reek on the mountain just after midday today.

The 63-year-old woman, who was with a group from Co. Kerry, was carried by the rescue team to a stretcher and then taken by ambulance to Mayo General Hospital.

She is being treated for injuries to her lower leg.
