Govt vows to engage intensively on jobs front

There is fresh hope today that a new social partnership agreement may be on the cards following a government commitment to engage intensively on the jobs front.

Unions and employers have been expressing pessimism about the prospects for a deal due to the Government's apparently reluctance to make major spending commitments.
