Govt faces Dáil fire regarding SRT announcement
The Government has come in for criticism in the Dáil this morning due to the latest development at the SR Technics plant in Dublin.
Yesterday, the company's Swiss owners announced that they had accepted a bid for part of the operation.
The move has disappointed unions and the Government, who had been supporting a number of other bids that might have saved hundreds of jobs at the facility.
Speaking in the Dáil this morning, Sinn Féin TD Aengus Ó Snodaigh accused Tánaiste Mary Coughlan of failing to protect more than 1,100 jobs at SRT.
Ms Coughlan, however, said the company was still open to bids for the remaining parts of its business.
