Pension funds seek retention of tax incentives

The Irish Association of Pension Funds is appealing to the Government not to reduce the tax incentives for investing in a private pension.

The association is holding its annual conference in Dublin today, with the agenda set to be dominated by the major losses in pension values over the past year.

The IAPF says it is concerned that people may be discouraged from investing in a pension in the current economic climate.

It is warning that this would create problems in the future.
