Large sum stolen from cash-in-transit van in Newry

Police in the North say a large sum of money was stolen during a raid on a cash-in-transit van in Newry this morning.

The van was making a delivery to a filling station on the Belfast road at around 7.15am when the guard was attacked by a man wearing a dark wig and a fake beard.

The attacker hit the guard with a baton before fleeing with the money.
