Cabinet to discuss new anti-crime proposals

The cabinet is set to discuss new proposals for tackling gangland criminals when it holds its regular weekly meeting this morning.

Justice Minister Dermot Ahern is expected to put forward 10 initiatives, including the identification of gang membership as a specific criminal offence.
