Gallagher confirms candidacy for Euro elections

Fianna Fáil's Pat 'The Cope' Gallagher has confirmed his intention to contest the upcoming European elections in the North West constituency.

The Donegal TD and former Minister of State has declared his candidacy just hours before nominations close at noon.

Fianna Fáil has already selected former senator Paschal Mooney to run in the constituency.

He has expressed his unhappiness over a late addition to the ticket.

However, speaking to Ocean FM this morning, Mr Gallagher said the two men would be working as a team for the good of the party.
