Ryan to unveil action plan on energy efficiency

Energy Minister Eamon Ryan is due to unveil the Government's plans for promoting energy efficiency later today.

The action plan will outline measures aimed at reducing energy use between now and 2020.

It will include initiatives to help businesses and householders cut their usage by 20%, while the target for the public sector has been set even higher at 33%.

Mr Ryan says achieving these targets could save up to €1.7bn in energy costs every year.
