FF to choose candidates for upcoming by-elections

Senator Maria Corrigan and Shay Brennan - the son of the late Seamus Brennan - are seeking the Fianna Fáil nomination in Dublin South.

George Lee, meanwhile, is set to ratified as the Fine Gael candidate in the constituency after his confirmation yesterday that he plans to leave RTÉ to pursue a career in politics.

In Dublin Central, Fianna Fáil councillors Mary Fitzpatrick, Maurice Ahern and Tom Stafford are all seeking to run for the party.

Senator Paschal Donohoe has already been chosen as the Fine Gael candidate, while Senator Ivana Bacik will be standing for the Labour Party.
