PSNI officer hospitalised following injury
A female police officer in the North is in hospital after being injured while on duty in west Belfast last night.
It happened in the Twinbrook area, when she was struck by a car while attending a call out near the Summerhill Road.
PSNI officers fired shots at the car, which was later found to contain a small amount of drugs.
The woman is being treated for injuries to her hand as well as some cuts and bruises, while a second officer is being treated for shock.
The incident is now being investigated by the North's police ombudsman.
