Gardaí are investigating a suspected arson attack on a car dealership in Dublin.

It is believed the blaze caused hundreds of thousands of euro worth of damage at the premises on the Ballymount Road.

Gardaí and the Dublin Fire Brigade were called to Southside Automotive on the Ballymount Road at around 11.30pm last night.

It is believed that up to 26 cars had been set on fire, causing around €250,000 worth of damage.

However no one was injured in the incident.

The scene is being examined this morning to determine what exactly happened and the road between Ballymount roundabout and Ballymount Avenue remains closed.
