Proclamation document sells for €250,000 at auction
An original unsigned copy of the 1916 Proclamation fetched €250,000 when it went under the hammer in Dublin last night.
The document was sold to a private Irish collector who wants to remain anonymous.
It was part of the fourth annual Independence Sale held by Adam's and Mealy's auctioneers.
Some 70% of the 700 lots were sold for a total of €680,000.
An original signed version of the Proclamation of Independence fetched a record-breaking €360,000 at auction last year.
