Wallace to lose job in junior ministerial reshuffle

Meath East TD Mary Wallace has confirmed that she is one of the junior ministers who will lose their jobs in the reshuffle being announced by the Taoiseach this afternoon.

Ms Wallace says she has already been contacted by Brian Cowen and has been told that more than five junior ministers will be losing their jobs.

This suggests a number of new faces will be promoted to the ministerial ranks.

Mr Cowen had asked all 20 ministers of state to hand in their resignations by last night.

He is due to name a new 15-strong team later today.
