The Government has launched Ireland's first National Cycle Policy Framework, which aims to get 160,000 people cycling to work by 2020.

The framework includes more than 100 measures that the Government says will be implemented over the next 12 years to deliver a culture of safe cycling in Ireland.

They include safer cycle routes and better parking facilities for bikes around the country, as well as improved integration between cycling and public transport.

At the moment, fewer than 2% of all commuters travel to work by bike.
