Up to 25 taxi drivers began a sit-in at the Taxi Regulator’s office in Dublin this afternoon as part of their ongoing protest about the issuing of further licences, which they claim is leading to a deterioration in their standard of living.

Up to 25 taxi drivers began a sit-in at the Taxi Regulator’s office in Dublin this afternoon as part of their ongoing protest about the issuing of further licences, which they claim is leading to a deterioration in their standard of living.

A review of the business on behalf of the Taxi Regulator earlier this year confirmed that incomes have fallen and that full-time drivers were working longer hours.

However, the regulator has disputed that the industry is in a state of collapse.
