Students occupy Dept of Finance offices in Dublin

Around 20 students are occupying the Department of Finance offices in Dublin today in protest at cutbacks announced in last week's Budget.

The action has been taken by the Free Education for Everyone group, which has also been campaigning against proposals to reintroduce college fees.

A spokesperson from the department says the incident started at around 11am and is being dealt with.

The Union of Students in Ireland says it has no involvement in the demonstration.
