Emergency landing for plane with sick pilot

A transatlantic flight was forced to make an emergency landing tonight after the pilot fell ill.

The Alitalia Boeing 767 travelling from Milan in Italy to New York’s JFK diverted to Shannon Airport in the west of Ireland shortly after 5pm.
