Irish authorities accused of failing rape victims
The Rape Crisis Network says the Irish authorities are failing to take enough action to improve prosecution rates in rape cases.
Police in the UK now face assessments every three months on their performance in investigating rape cases and bringing charges against alleged attackers.
New guidance is also being given to British prosecutors on how alleged rapes should be prosecuted, while specialist police officers have been assigned to only deal with cases of sexual violence.
The Rape Crisis Network, however, says no such progress is being made in Ireland.
