The Mayor of Limerick has said those responsible for shooting dead a 35-year-old man in the city yesterday are "wild animals" and should be removed from society.

The Mayor of Limerick has said those responsible for shooting dead a 35-year-old man in the city yesterday are "wild animals" and should be removed from society.

Businessman Roy Collins, who was a father-of-two, died in hospital at lunchtime yesterday after being shot at an arcade in the Roxboro Shopping Centre.

Two men, aged 19 and 20, have been arrested and are being detained at Roxboro Road garda station.

Gardaí also recovered a partially burnt-out car believed to have been used in the shooting.

It will be technically examined later today.

Mayor John Gilligan says the killers are not living in the real world.
