Lufthansa Technik agrees to go to the Labour Court

Lufthansa Technik Airmotive Ireland has agreed to go to the Labour Court in a bid to resolve a dispute at the company, which is threatening the future of 465 jobs.

The company held an emergency management meeting at its facility in Rathcoole in Dublin this morning.

There was also telephone contact with its parent company in Germany.

Yesterday workers voted to reject the company's cost-cutting proposal.

In a statement today, the company says it is optimistic that all interests at the facility will engage productively with the Labour Court to find a mutually satisfactory solution.

It has also emphasised that the process must be done quickly.
