Tánaiste rejects claims NAMA will bail out banks

Tánaiste and Enterprise Minister Mary Coughlan today rejected claims from the Opposition that the establishment of the new National Assets Management Agency amounts to a bail-out of the banks.

Fine Gael's Alan Shatter accused the Government in the Dáil this morning of rescuing its builder friends with the creation of the new agency, tasked with buying up risky bank loans.
