The Co Offaly publican found dead following a suspected robbery at his premises in Daingean last week has been laid to rest.

The Co Offaly publican found dead following a suspected robbery at his premises in Daingean last week has been laid to rest.

Matt Farrell's body was found by his son at the Gaelic Bar last Wednesday morning.

The 64-year-old had died of head injuries.

The Taoiseach was represented at Mr Farrell's funeral in Daingean this morning by his aide de camp, Michael Tracey.
