SRT workers to block Dublin Airport entrance

Major disruption is expected at Dublin Airport due to a planned protest by workers from SR Technics this morning.

The employees are planning to block the main entrance to the airport between 11am and midday.

SR Technics plans to close its aircraft maintenance facility at Dublin Airport this year, with the loss of more than 1,100 jobs.

Yesterday, the company rejected Labour Court recommendations urging it to double the value of its redundancy package and to make up a deficit in its pension fund.
