Five men held after gun and knife attack in Emly
Gardaí are questioning five men in connection with an incident yesterday afternoon in which one man was shot in the leg and another stabbed in the back.
The attack happened in Emly, on the Limerick-Tipperary border, at around 3.30pm.
The two victims were taken to hospital, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Gardaí investigating the incident later arrested five men in their 20s after stopping a car on the Tipperary Road in the Ballysimon area of Limerick.
Some of those in custody are believed to be members of a Limerick criminal gang.
