SIPTU and DAA to attend talks at LRC today
SIPTU representatives and officials from the Dublin Airport Authority are due to attend talks at the Labour Relations Commission today in an effort to resolve a pay dispute.
Yesterday, the union's civil aviation branch decided to cancel the threat of strike action this Thursday by DAA employees at Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports.
The branch had threatened to mount an eight-hour stoppage to protest at the non-payment of agreed wage increments, as well as pay rises due under the national pay deal.
The strike was not sanctioned by the SIPTU leadership, which has agreed to re-enter talks with the social partners on an economic recovery plan.
