Man in court in connection with major drug seizure in Dublin
A 23-year-old father of two appeared in court this afternoon charged in connection with a multi-million euro drug seizure in a north Dublin suburb.
He was arrested yesterday after heroin worth between €2 and €8 million was recovered by gardaí in Bayside.
23-year-old Stephen Mc Elroy, with an address at Bayside Crescent, was brought before Dublin District Court today charged with possession of drugs, and possession with intent for sale or supply.
He was remanded in custody with consent to bail on his own bond of €100,000 along with two independent sureties of €30,000 each, and is due to appear again on Friday.
A man in his 40s who was also arrested during yesterday’s seizure has had his period of detention extended and remains in custody in Santry Garda Station.
