Gardaí arrest man in €200k drugs seizure

Gardaí in Cavan have seized more than €200,000 worth of heroin and made one arrest this afternoon.

The heroin, along with cannabis plants worth about €45,000 and a small quantity of ecstasy tablets, were seized by members of the drugs unit during a planned search on a house on the outskirts of Cavan town.

A 44-year-old man was arrested and is being questioned at Cavan garda station under section two of the Misuse of Drugs Act.
