John Ging to meet Foreign Affairs Minister in Dublin
The head of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency in the Gaza Strip is visiting Ireland today for a series of engagements.
John Ging, a former Irish Army officer, is due to meet Foreign Affairs Minister Micháel Martin in Dublin and will address the Oireachtas Foreign Affairs Committee..
He will also give a lecture at Trocaire’s annual Lenten event in Maynooth, Co Kildare.
The Co Laois native came to international prominence in January while overseeing the UN's humanitarian response to the Israeli military offensive in Gaza.
He acted as a crucial information source for the media during the conflict, which resulted in the death of almost 1,500 Palestinians.
