Timber firm to lay off 14 workers in Co Laois

A British timber firm has announced plans to shut its plant in Co Laois with the loss of 14 jobs.

Donaldson Timber Engineering is pulling out of the Irish market and closing its plant in Mountmellick.

It is blaming the decision on the lack of credit available to first-time home-buyers.
