Sinn Féin is accusing the Taoiseach of consulting with his European colleagues, but not with the Irish public, on the proposed second referendum on the Lisbon Treaty.

Brian Cowen told this week's EU summit in Brussels that the Government would mount a strong campaign ahead of the ballot, which would probably be in the autumn.
