A teenager has been awarded €1,000 by the Equality Tribunal after it found his school discriminated against him by trying to make him cut his hair.

A teenager has been awarded €1,000 by the Equality Tribunal after it found his school discriminated against him by trying to make him cut his hair.

The Tribunal ruled the teenager was being discriminated against on the grounds of gender with its demands that he cut his hair to shoulder length, since it did not make the same demands on female students.
