O’Dowd launches new website for Irish diaspora

A new website which aims to harness the power of the Irish diaspora has been launched in the US.

The site - IrishCentral.com - wants to reach the 70 million people around the world who identify themselves as Irish.

It will provide multimedia broadcasts with news, sport, entertainment, movies, music, theatre, books and TV, as well as highlighting travel and roots research.

The site has been set up by Niall O'Dowd, the founder of the Irish Voice newspaper and one of the founders of the Irish Lobby for Immigration Reform in the United States.
