Suspected pipe bomb found in Navan

Gardaí in Co. Meath are investigating the discovery of a suspected pipe bomb in Navan this afternoon.

It was discovered at the Reask Court housing estate at around 4.30pm.

The army bomb disposal team is on its way to the scene and will examine the discovery.

A number of residents have been evacuated from the area as a precautionary measure, although it is not yet known if the device is a hoax.
