Concern expressed about huge rise in mumps cases
Meningitis Ireland has expressed concern about the large number of mumps cases detected since the beginning of the year.
Figures from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre show that 834 cases of mumps have been reported so far this year, compared to 55 during the same period in 2008.
