Many TDs to get €3,000 pay hike in coming months

Twenty-six of the Dáil's 166 TDs are due to get a €3,000 pay rise in the coming months despite the Government's move to slash public spending in response to the recession.

The politicians are in line for so-called long-service increments, which are paid after TDs have been sitting in the Dáil for seven years.
