Minor disturbances follow PSNI operation in Craigavon

A number of minor disturbances broke out in Craigavon last night following search operations linked to the murder of a PSNI officer on Monday night.

Two men, aged 17 and 37, were arrested yesterday during raids on houses close to the scene of the murder in the Co Armagh town.

Last night's disturbances prompted the PSNI to advise motorists to avoid the area.

Meanwhile, diversions are in place following the discovery of a suspicious device in Strabane, Co Tyrone, last night.

The device was found near the drive-through area of a fast-food outlet in Bradley Way and bomb disposal experts were called to the scene.

A hoax bomb also forced the evacuation of several houses in Derry yesterday.
