Taxi drivers threaten to hold largest protest yet
Taxi drivers have threatened to hold the biggest protest the country has ever seen if their demands for a moratorium on the issuing of licences are not met.
The Taxi unions met the Transport Minister Noel Dempsey about the future of the industry this afternoon.
Yesterday, a report prepared for the Commission for Taxi Regulation rejected drivers’ demands for a moratorium.
President of the National Taxi Drivers Union, Tommy Gorman, has called for the resignation of Taxi Regulator Kathleen Doyle.
