Taxi drivers have threatened to hold the biggest protest the country has ever seen if their demands for a moratorium on the issuing of licences are not met.

The Taxi unions met the Transport Minister Noel Dempsey about the future of the industry this afternoon.

Yesterday, a report prepared for the Commission for Taxi Regulation rejected drivers’ demands for a moratorium.

President of the National Taxi Drivers Union, Tommy Gorman, has called for the resignation of Taxi Regulator Kathleen Doyle.
