Martin and Ahern to hold talks with Northern Secretary
The Minister for Foreign Affairs Micheál Martin and the Minister for Justice Dermot Ahern are travelling to the North today for talks with Northern Secretary Shaun Woodward.
The trip by Mr Martin and Mr Ahern follows the fatal shooting of a PSNI officer last night by suspected dissident republicans.
The policeman was responding to a call in the Craigavon area of Co Armagh when he was shot dead.
The attack comes just 48 hours after the Real IRA's murder of two British soldiers at the Massereene army barracks in Co Antrim.
The Irish Government is promising to do all it can to help bring those responsible to justice.
