A man who was being questioned by gardaí in connection with a car plunging off the cross river ferry in Cork on Sunday night has been released without charge.

A man who was being questioned by gardaí in connection with a car plunging off the cross river ferry in Cork on Sunday night has been released without charge.

A man is still missing following the incident, which happened as the ferry was travelling between Glenbrook and Carrigloe near Cobh.

A second man was rescued from the water by a local fisherman.

The search for the missing man is continuing this morning, with Gardaí, the Navy and local lifeboat teams all involved in the operation.
