A father-of-two has been acquitted by a jury at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court of having sex with a 16-year-old girl.

The 25-year-old accused had pleaded not guilty to defilement of a child in a park in north Dublin on September 28, 2006. The jury of four men and eight women took an hour to find him innocent after a four-day trial.
