Green party calls for jailing of white-collar criminals
The chairman of the Green Party has said Irish people will not believe that the banking sector has cleaned up its act until people go to jail.
Dan Boyle said the time has come to appoint qualified personnel from outside the country to run Irish banking because a ''who you know'' culture is preventing transparency in the sector.
He told delegates at his party's Annual Convention in Wexford that it is time for white-collar criminals to pay for their crimes.
