Officers working for the Police Ombudsman in the North have released a 77-year-old man arrested yesterday for questioning about the murder of RUC Sergeant Joe Campbell in February 1977.

Officers working for the Police Ombudsman in the North have released a 77-year-old man arrested yesterday for questioning about the murder of RUC Sergeant Joe Campbell in February 1977.

He was shot dead in his home village of Cushendall in the Glens of Antrim as he locked up the local station where he worked.

RUC detective Charles McCormick was put on trial for the murder but acquitted in 1982.
