Govt open to increased powers for corporate watchdog

Finance Minister Brian Lenihan has promised that the Government will deal expeditiously with any request from the Director of Corporate Enforcement for stronger powers.

Paul Appleby is reportedly seeking increased powers to prosecute people engaged in wrongdoing in the corporate sector.
