Dublin Bus drivers’ strike called off

SIPTU has called off a planned strike by bus drivers at Dublin Bus, it was confirmed this afternoon.

Drivers were due to go on strike on Sunday over the company's cost cutting plan, which would see 290 jobs axed and 120 buses withdrawn from service.

SIPTU said the strike had been deferred because the company had agreed not to implement the job cuts, creating space for talks to take place.
